Departure is quickly approaching

It seems that all of a sudden its ARBA Convention week!

Where did all the preparation time go? I'm a bit behind on a few tasks that still need to be completed but am very much looking forward to finishing up packing, printing pedigrees and loading the trailer up for its maiden voyage.

The 3 puppies on the farm will be departing for their vacation (aka pet sitting) with my family tomorrow which will make the last minute tasks much easier without 3 small dogs underfoot getting into everything.

The farm will be in good hands while I'm away and I think I'll miss the critters alot more than they will miss me.

I'll try and get a post up right before I head out on my ARBA Convention 2011 adventure this Thursday. To all those attending, best of luck, can't wait to see you there!

Time!

If there is one thing I wish I had more of it would certainly be more free time! I spent all of today doing a fall spruce up around the farm and I still have lots more to do...

With colder weather approaching quickly there still are a few major things that need to be finished before the first frost sets in. The autowatering system to the bunny barn has to be disconnected and drained - during the dead of winter the bunnies will go back to water bottles and crocks changed frequently to ensure a constant supply of water. Winterizing panels need to be installed over the open air portions of the barn and doors will be added on either end of the main hall.

There still is a good amount of painting that needs to be done, hopefully it will all be completed before it gets too cold and finally the dog kennels need the dog door flaps installed to help keep the heat inside the building when I start running the heat in there in the next few weeks.

I'm almost all set for ARBA Convention, I have some more tattooing and nail trimming to do, a few pedigrees to print but other than that everything is pretty much squared away. It will be nice to be able to bring everything needed in the car/trailer along this time instead of the hassle of flying to Convention like last year.

Here's a handful of photos from around the farm lately:

Convention Entries Submitted!

I finished sorting through the rabbits and submitted my entries for ARBA Convention - 21 Rhinelanders all of which will be for sale at the show!

What are you entering this year? Are you excited for the big event?

Just a few photos

Things are as busy as ever on the farm. Its hard to believe that the rabbit (ARBA) Convention is only a few short weeks away. I'm really looking forward to it, especially spending time with my bunny buddies!

I don't have much to show but it will be fun to move the Rhinelanders out and see what I can find that suits me in terms of a meat breed. I have a few last minute things to do such as finalize my entries, tattoo some of the bunnies and get the trailer ready to go.

I do still have space available for transport. $15.00 a hole one way, e-mail me if you'd like a spot.

I've decided to continue my sales policy as I did last year at Convention, all sales will be conducted in person at the Convention center and I will not be accepting any presales. I will have a good number of entered Rhinelanders for sale along with several more brood animals available for purchase outside the show room. I'll have my contact info posted on the coops of my entered show rabbits so you can call me to setup time to see the rabbits that aren't entered in the show.

Anyways onto the photos!

Timon the piglet is adjusting to life on the farm pretty well. Pumba isn't too impressed with him yet but hopefully they will be good buddies some day soon.
